Thursday, June 1

8:30 a.m.: early arrival and check-in

9:00 – 11:30  Optional Workshops

We encourage you to arrive in time for the morning workshops. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions and get more comfortable with the gear and software. We’ll tailor the morning to those who can attend. Topics could include:

  • Intro to DSLR cameras
  • Intro to Adobe Premiere
  • Other topics  TBA

11:30 – 12:30 p.m.: Lunch

12:30 – 1 p.m. Afternoon registration

1:00-1:15 Introductions

1:15 – 1:45 Special Olympics Introductions

1:45 – 2:30 p.m.: Audio – the soul of all good multimedia – Will Yurman

2:30 – 3:30 p.m.: Storytelling and Multimedia -Steve Mellon and
Stephanie Strasburg

3:30-3:45 break

3:45 – 4:30 p.m.:  Nikon’s Chad McNeeley talks about the gear

4:30 – 5:30 p.m.: Participants work with faculty/make contact on stories

5:30 – 6:30 p.m.: Dinner* 

6:30 – 9:00 p.m.:  Opening Ceremonies for Special Olympics – find subjects!!

9:00-9:30: Discuss story ideas with coaches

9:30-10:30: Intro to Video Editing

10:30-11:00: open questions/wrap up for night

Friday, June 2

8:30 a.m – 6 p.m.:  Participants/meet with coaches/ work on stories/go over skills

Noon:  Faculty Lunch

6:15 – 7:30 p.m.:  Dinner*

7:30 p.m.:  Faculty time with participants / edit

9:00 p.m.: 360 Video 

 Saturday, June 3

8:30 a.m.:  Participants meet with faculty to arrange meeting times

9:00 a.m.: Drone demonstration with Eugene Matullo, Penn State’s newly hired Unmanned Aerial Systems Manager.
(Optional)

9:30 a.m – 6pm:  Participants work on stories.

 RETURN GEAR TO NIKON

6 p.m. – Students export their final projects

6-7:30 Dinner*

8 -10 p.m.: Faculty and participants and invited subjects show final work to group

10 p.m. Workshop ends
